Yannick’s story
At secondary school, Yannick deepened this passion by exploring different development languages on his own. It was during this period that his desire to communicate with computers was solidified. He went on to study for a BTS in computer science, followed by a work-linked professional degree.
After graduating, Yannick joined an SME specialising in marketing, where he helped create applications for research management tools. The economic crisis in 2009 prompted him to take a work-linked training course for adults, which led him to enter the Digital Services Companies (DSC) sector.
His first assignment in this context was with a manufacturer in the automotive sector, via a service company. He subsequently decided to join this same ESN while continuing to work for this manufacturer. After a nine-year career, he decided to move to another company, and Apside caught his eye because of the company’s proximity to its employees, as well as the opportunity to work on both assignments and internal projects.
Why did he choose Apside?
« Apside is the ESN that stands out in the Clermont-Ferrand area. The fact that we have a physical branch on a human scale is what convinced me. »
Yannick’s missions
At Apside Clermont-Ferrand, Yannick has a number of missions. The first, on behalf of our client, a leading tyre manufacturer, is to develop an information flow visualisation application. Drawing on his technical expertise and knowledge of the customer’s environment, he is able to respond effectively to requests.
The core of this application is developed in Java, along with related technologies. Thanks to his technical knowledge and leadership, Yannick is positioned on the borderline between developer and tech lead on this project. In fact, he describes himself as an ‘artisan developer’, i.e. an expert who continues to develop while applying best practices based on his experience, to ensure the long-term maintainability and reliability of the application.
As tech lead, Yannick has other responsibilities, including developing the agency’s Java division. In addition, he plays an active role in recruiting new talent by conducting technical interviews to assess the skills of each candidate. In addition, he leads the Java community in order to unite it and strengthen the sense of belonging within the team, where he is keen to help the most junior members of the team to grow, as well as supporting the work-study students/apprentices at the Clermont-Ferrand agency.
