Transformation of Eurosport's IT infrastructure : Background

Eurosport, a pan-European channel specialising in sport, has launched a major transformation of its IT infrastructure over the last few years to meet the growing digital needs of its customers (websites, online application player, VOD, etc.) and to offer better quality service and broadcasting capacity for major live events (tennis, Olympic Games, Grand Prix, etc.).

Since 2003 Eurosport has trusted Apside for the support, administration and engineering of its IT infrastructure.
In nearly twenty years we have built a relationship of trust with Eurosport teams and have worked with them throughout several stages of transformation of their information systems.
Today, we are involved alongside them in their digital transformation and in the evolution of their infrastructure into the Cloud.

Transformation of Eurosport's IT infrastructure : Our team

We have structured our Support and System/Network Administration activities around an 11-person Skills Centre (10 technical consultants and a manager), managed by Metrics Monitoring Committees.

The activities are divided between Linux, Windows, Cloud AWS and operational security environments and enable the maintenance of platforms in operational condition, the deployment of infrastructures and environments and the service operations managed by the Run unit.

On the engineering and SysOps side, 4 System Engineers participate in Cloud migrations and administration. They are also part of the Build and application integration units, which use real time technology, as well as digital with DevOps-oriented technologies.

Our support has enabled our Skills Centre to build up its expertise and address an ever-growing number of issues, assisting in Eurosport's development and projects with flexibility and responsiveness.

We have thus been able to regularly optimise the quality of service delivered by our teams and guarantee support for Eurosport's IT department in line with its IT transformation dynamics.
